Remote System Explorer (RSE)I

The Remote Systems Explorer (RSE) is the development environment within the WebSphere Development Studio client that allows you to develop RPG, COBOL, DDS and CL applications.  This development tool is the 21st century follow-on to the world of SEU, SDA, PDM, etc. and even CODE/400.  All the things that a developer might wish were possible with a green screen are in the RSE and some that you haven't even thought of yet.  Other benefits include improving programmer productivity, off-loading host development workload and allowing existing applications to be maintained more effectively.  This talk will cover the basics of RSE followed by a demo.

Nazmin Haji is the IBM Technical Lead for Remote Systems Explorer (RSE).  In this role, she is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSC).  During her time as a software developer at the IBM Toronto Laboratory, Nazmin has worked on the development of the ILE RPG compiler on the System i, as well as System i Application Development Tools on the PC.  Nazmin has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario, and she joined IBM in 1988.
