Notes about the April 2009  Conference:

From Dick Ferrara, Natco Products

I had an outstanding experience @ the conference. It was good for me on multiple levels.

I ran into old friends, some that I hadn’t seen for over 10 years, and got to hang out with current ones as well.

I had specific goals in mind when I picked my sessions. I wanted to explore the use of RSE/RDi, and I did through Susan Gantner’s jump start session and lab. It’s been just a few days since the conference and we are using RSE. We still use PDM, but I can see us moving away from it. To bring this knowledge back to my shop and get a fast return, is extremely gratifying.

I wanted to learn the sub-procedure processes, and I did, again through Susan Gantner, and Jon Paris. We will use this as a design consideration in new development.

I checked out DB2 Web query, by attending Gene Cobb’s session and lab, and came back with a good understanding on how it functions. This we will use in the future.

Speaking with vendors, and checking out new products is always cool, one never knows what one will find.

To say the least, the conference was good for me.
